Yesterday we worked one of my most beloved movements; the clean! We play around with the many variations of the clean, but yesterday was honest to goodness, take it off the floor, catch it in a squat, cleans. We did 3-3-3, working our way up to a 3 rep max. You will all be happy to know that Brittany's elbows are finally behaving, and they're coming around MUCH faster than they were before. Atta girl!
Has anyone noticed how strong Mark R. is? I mean seriously...have you NOTICED? He's strong, and he has very solid technique on his lifts. GYG, you guys better keep one eye open when you sleep with him around. He's going to be sneaking up on you guys in no time!
After our work with cleans, we moved on to sled drags. This is where we drag old tires around the parking lot, and people driving by stare. Bill loaded the women's tires with 10kg plates, and the men were saddled with 20kg plates. The idea was to keep the weight light enough so that you could SPRINT. We did 4 passes of the parking lot with a 2:00 rest between. I know sled drags suck, but they're sooooo good for our fannies! They're better than Spanx at giving you a shapely rear.
I invented a new way to hold the ropes on the sled drags that gives you more leverage, allows you to pump your arms, and it even prevents your hands from getting crushed as you pull. Unfortunately, my new method left both of my upper arms covered in bruises. After carefully reviewing the bruised evidence, I have decided against encouraging people to use my new method. OW! I was asked twice if Bill shook the daylights out of me since the bruises look like hand prints.
