Canadians are cray-zee

Bill finds inspiration for workouts in all kinds of places. He makes up some of the workouts himself, some are from CrossFit HQ, some from other affiliates, and some of our workouts even come from Canadia. (YES, Canadia. That's NOT a typo) The workout yesterday came from the Western Canadian Qualifiers. Do you guys know who made up those WODs? I'll give you two guesses.

Nope.

Try again.

Ok, I'll just tell you...OPT. When it comes to programming workouts so hard that it'll blow your mind, OPT is da man. He's all aboot the hard workouts, eh. Alright, that's enough poking fun at our neighbors from the north.

We started with some strength work: Front Squat 5-5-5-3-3-3. We then moved into one heck of a challenging workout:

AMRAP in 20:00 of
10 wall ball shots (20/14lb)
10 box jumps (24")
10 dead lifts (100/65kg)
10 burpees

I was upstairs in the loft reading some emails during the 5PM class, but I could clearly hear Lisa say mid-workout, "is it 20 minutes yet?" This was with about 12:00 remaining.

The top male athlete at the qualifier scored 8 rounds, plus 5 burpees. Our top male performer of the day got 8 rounds, plus 10 box jumps. Nice work Garth! The top female athlete at the qualifier scored 7 rounds plus 8 wall ball shots. Our top girly scored 7 rounds plus 8 burpees. BOO-YAH! Atta girl Stacy! Nice to know you two could hang with the Canadians!

tuesday hard
