Memories.....like the corners of my mind....misty water colored MEMORIES....of the way we were! This workout brings back such fond memories for me! The first time we did this was back in early 2011 as part of the CrossFit Open. My favorite memory of that day was getting to watch a few people get their first chest to bar pull-ups EVER, and having Charlie as my judge for the workout. I was about 36 weeks pregnant and it was almost impossible to get my chest to the bar. And by "almost impossible" I mean it was actually impossible. Poor Charlie had to stand there and no-rep me for 6 minutes and 50 seconds. Good times. :-)

Never done chest to bar pull-ups? One thing that I found to help is reversing your grip. If you face your palms towards your face, this seems to give you a better angle. It's slower, but at least you won't get no-rep'd a hundred times. The other thing that helps is to look UP. Pick a spot on the ceiling above the pull-up bar and as you're pulling, focus on that spot. Just think high thoughts, and you're sure to master C2B pull-ups in no time!

  • I normally do not do this, but I am fired up (probably regret it layer).
    Dead hang pull up with 10 extra kg not bad for not being able to do A SINGLE pull up in February.
    Finished the round of 12 doing real pull ups not C2B, but pull ups... No band at all. GIDDY-UP!

    Great job Kelly! This was the first time I got to do this WOD. I didn't make it to this WOD two years ago and I certainly wouldn't have done it RX'd. So I'm pretty jacked too!
