Something truly amazing happened yesterday at the Fort. We had our first Team Saturday TIE. A Tie! And not like in little league where they just don't keep score, so everyone's a "winner". It was a legitimate tie and has simply never happened before. The workout was grueling, and challenged both your physical prowess, and your mental toughness. Bill announced that he wanted people to pair up one man, and one lady, and it was cute that you guys all paired up with your significant others.
Awh, how cute! We could call yesterday Team Saturday FOR LOVERS.
The workout was done in teams of two. Each team member had to complete one round while the other rested before moving on to the next round.
400 meter run
21 kettle bell swings (24/16kg)
12 pull-ups
400 meter run
30 wall ball shots (20/14lb)
30 box jumps (24" box)
500 meter row
21 kettle bell swings
12 pull-ups
500 meter row
30 wall ball shots
30 box jumps
One partner worked while the other rested, it was kind of like having a little built in vacation, right? Our two final teams were neck and neck going into the last round. Super Dawn was doing box jumps, and she had a sizable lead on Team Huckabay who had Garth just starting wall ball shots. With newfound strength and determination, Garth cranked through his wall ball shots unbroken and then moved on to box jumps. I'm pretty sure Dawn had at least a 15 rep head start on him, I thought for sure Team Super Eagle was going to take the belt. Then from somewhere deep inside, Garth pulled out the 2nd fastest box jumps I've ever seen. Only Bryce from CrossFit Chicago has faster hips than Garth had on Saturday. Both teams called TIME, and it was a tie. AMAZING.
While Team Super Eagle and Team Huckabay were our first place teams, Team Hawaiian Tropic deserves a shout out for being the only team to go through it as rx'd. Matt L and Kelli really busted tail on this workout...snaps for Team Hawaiian Tropic!

That was a tough workout! It's always fun crossing the finish line neck and neck with good friends

Bill, you built a phenomenal workout for us this past Saturday. Enough rest so that we weren't absolutely dying, yet tough enough to still call it a BRUTAL workout!
I turned to Jennie a number of times during the workout and said "This is the dream, Jennie. To be working out side by side with my wife". After dialing in the workouts, nutrition and rest, this was the final piece of the puzzle for me: Having Dawn right there by my side! I was even able to bring my boys (thanks again Catelyn for watching them). This is why Crossfit Fire is "The Greatest Place on Earth"!
