Odds and Ends

December 4th, 2009, by Bill

I have a few announcements for everyone:

  1. "Team Saturday" will be a little different this week. We will partake in the Lumberjack Hero WOD instead of our traditional team challenge. For those of you who do not know, 4 of the soldiers killed during the Fort Hood shootings a few weeks ago were fellow CrossFitters and this WOD will be done in their honor. For those of you who would like to donate to the cause, here is the link to do so: CrossFit Lumberjack Donations.
  2. If you will be joining us for the Weightlifting Meet next Saturday at Windy City CrossFit, I need 2 things from you ASAP:
    1. $20 for the registration fee
    2. weight class you will participate in

  3. I will be available at 10:30am on Saturday, December 5th (tomorrow) for anyone interested in getting some additional Oly work in before next Saturday's event. Feel free to hang around the Fort after Saturday's WOD, but please be courteous of the Intro class. Cranking up the music or sharing equipment with the newbies tends to be pretty distracting.
  4. If you order meat from the MeatGoat, please be there on Thursday night to pick it up. We have absolutely nothing to do with this service and will not be responsible for meat left at the Fort.

  • My fault on the meat, I remembered it around 9 pm. Was it freezered by any chance? I will come get it on the way home from work tonight.

    Sorry for the inconvenience guys.

  • Hi Bill, Jennie and Zach! It would be a great honored to be a part of this WOD in memory of our Soldiers and fellow CrossFitters.

I am a lil confused about how the weight class works! See yall tomorrow :)

  • Kelli -

If you weigh 105.6 pounds or less, you are in the 105.6 weight class. If you weigh more than 105.6, but no more than 116.6, you are in the 116.6 weight class. It goes like that all the way up to 165 pounds for the ladies. Any lady over 165 pounds is in the 165+ weight class. If anybody has any questions feel free to shoot me an email or ask me at the Fort.

  • I hope you have some time bocked off to complete this one.

    Lumberjack WOD

    Run 400m
    20 KB swings (2pood)

    Run 400m

    Run 400m
    20 Box jumps (24")

I am drilling this weekend or I'd be there to try it out!

Wonder if there'll be a Pear Harbor Memorial WOD? Remember Dec. 7th, 1941. 2,402 dead 1,282 wounded. Kinda puts things in perspective.
