I'm SO excited about all the people who have emailed us about competing in the 2010 CrossFit Games! We have a number of people interested in the individual competition, as well as trying out for the Affiliate Team Cup. 2010 is going to be OUR YEAR at the Games!
We will be encouraging our Games hopefuls to try and catch a few 2-a-day's between now and sectionals just so that you are mentally prepared to do two workouts in one day. More on games training to follow.....
Last night something weird happened. Our weights WEREN'T HEAVY anymore. I know...it's weird. We were doing back squats 5-5-5-3-3-3, and on Pete's last set, he got 160kg's for 6 reps AND IT DIDN'T LOOK HEAVY. It was impressive to say the least! It was like Chris Angel dropped by the Fort and made his magic work on those weights.
The metcon last night was a short, heavy one.
12-9-6
deadlifts (140/95kg's)
thrusters (60/40kg's)
The goal was to finish between 4:00 and 7:00, and there was a 10:00 DNF. I didn't get a chance to participate in this workout, but I got to watch it 4 times. This was a BRUTAL workout, and you guys did great. Let me just go on record as saying that our CrossForters are the TOUGHEST CrossFitters EVER.
ANNOUNCEMENTS!!! Garth & Audra have generously offered to host a little Christmas party at their house this Saturday, the 19th. Things will get kicked off around 7PM at the Huckabay house for some appetizers and drinks, and then we'll be heading out to a local establishment for some live music and some more fun!
2nd announcement!! This Sunday there will be a meatzza-off at Mark & Trish's house at 3:00PM. Bring your best meatzza for a chance to be our meatzza champion!
