Stretching for a great rack

July 27th, 2012, by

7/28/12 Team Saturday
In teams of 3, complete:
50 Handstand Push-ups
100 Hang Power Cleans (70/50)
150 Pull-ups
200 Box Jumps (24/20)
*only 1 person working at a time
Whoa Nelly! Before you get scared away from this one, remember that even our Team Saturday workouts are scalable. Can't do handstand push-ups? No problem! Also keep in mind that when working on a team, don't feel obligated to do the same number of reps as someone who has been coming for a long time. Maybe they do 25, and you only do 15. It's all part of working together as a team!
Word of advice: Make sure your teams figures out a good way to keep track of your reps. There's nothing worse than the confused feeling of not knowing how many reps are left!

Do you see Jamie's amazing rack? No, you perverts....her front rack position with the barbell! Her elbows are nice and high, the barbell is resting on her shoulders, and her hands are open with just finger tips on the bar. This makes her life easier in the gym. If your rack is, well, less than amazing, then you need to do a little stretching. Our friends at CrossFit Invictus put together these great pictures that show a super good stretch using a dowel rod:
