WLCW Weekly Challenge #1

We're kicking off the first week of the Whole Life Challenge with a fun task! Want to earn your extra credit bonus points for this week? (Trust me, you do) Then all you have to do is "be that guy". Ask questions at three restaurants this week either in person or by phone as to whether or not someone on the challenge can safely eat there. Find out challenge compliant items and post in the Week 1 Challenge Forum on the WLCW website. A restaurant does not have to be compliant to earn credit for the challenge, but you must post your results.

See? What an easy way to earn 2 extra credit points this week!

  • It's just about learning where the sneaky ingredients are hiding. You could even fake a food allergy if it makes life easier. :-) Let's say you're ordering an omelet. "Can you tell me if you cook your omelets in butter or vegetable oil? Also, I need to make sure there is no gluten in the egg batter". (Yes, some places put pancake batter in their omelets to make them fluffier.

    Here's another example: Let's say you're out to lunch. "I'd like to order your southwest salad, but do you know if there is sugar in your dressing? If there is, I'd like to ask for oil and vinegar instead of the dressing."

    Does that help?? You're just trying to be a sugar/dairy/grains detective.

  • Thanks Jennie. I suppose that's the problem... I don't know of sneaky things like pancake batter in omelets so I wouldn't know to ask!!! SNEAKY!!!
