Yoga at CrossFit Fire

June 30th, 2012, by

With all the lululemon at the Fort it was only a matter of time before we started offering Yoga classes, right? We are incredibly pleased to welcome Nicole Pavel to our team at CrossFit Fire! She will be offering Yoga classes on Sunday mornings at 8AM, starting Sunday August 5th! (no Yoga on Hero WOD days)

Here's what Nicole says about her style of Yoga:

The style of yoga that I teach is based on the Iyengar method of hatha yoga, which emphasizes proper alignment to achieve personal flexibility and strength in each pose.  To make the practice more "user-friendly" I eliminate the Sanskrit names of the postures and avoid the ohming and chanting sometimes associated with traditional yoga practices.  I have adapted the yoga classes for presentation in group exercise locations, complimenting existing exercise programming, to improve performance in all activities.  I strive to deliver a fun, user-friendly style, which is understandable, doable and enjoyable by individuals at any level of fitness and flexibility.

OMG, that sounds amazing! CrossFit and Yoga compliment each other perfectly! There is no better way to stay injury free than by improving your overall mobility. If you have tight _______(insert anything) then you need to attend these yoga classes! Let's get FLEXIBLE!

You can attend these classes as part of your current membership with us, or visitors can pay the $20/class drop in fee.

Oh can't wait!!! Thanks for adding the class!! I have a feeling this is going to be a great hit!!

  • Wow! This is an amazing response. I can't wait to meet all of you. Let me say you don't have to be flexible to start doing yoga, after all how many of you were strong when you started CrossFit? Both strength and flexibility come from consistently working on them.

  • Why August 5th? Can't we start earlier? :) I'm in desperate need of some yoga!
